Last notes for Stonehenge Actors before Sunday

Emails to all 192 actors for Stonehenge were sent Thursday morning, the number of headshots/resumes you need to bring is 24, and we’re looking forward to seeing you all on Sunday in Baltimore.

However, we know things come up at the last minute (inclduing paying gigs) and some actors will not be able to make it. If you can’t make it–for any reason–please send us a quick email at stonehenge@teamjabberwocky.com.

For anyone with a guaranteed slot, this a must. Otherwise, as listed on the website, those actors who don’t show–and don’t let us know–won’t get to audition for three years’ worth of henges. Most actors, including those with standby slots, opt to go for the good karma and shoot us an email at stonehenge@teamjabberwocky.com. It usually gives someone on the waitlist a chance and also makes the event run smoother, so why not?

Finally, we’re happy to remind actors we will once again be taping auditions for Stonehenge and posting them on our YouTube channel (cunningly located at www.youtube.com/user/StonehengeAuditions). The collected auditions have gotten over 30,000 views and we have a growing list of local production companies as subscribers. Details about the free service and release are at http://tinyurl.com/2q43dv.

Thanks for reading and we’ll see you at the Henge!

Filmmaker Registration Closed, Headshot number is 24

Filmmaker registration for Stonehenge IX has closed. Close to 50 filmmakers from about 19 different production companies will be attending.

The second confirmation for actors will be sent out tomorrow (Thursday) with adjustments made for cancellations. However, we can tell you already that the “magic” number of headshots is 24.

We look forward to seeing you all on Sunday.

Last Chance to Register for Stonehenge IX!

It’s crunch time for Stonehenge.

About 26 filmmakers have signed up, but we still have space left for additional production companies. If you’re looking for new talent or to build your acting roster for future productions, you’ll have an opportunity to see over 100 actors of all types, union and nonunion, throughout the day.

All-important details about the event and required registration is online at http:/www.goteamj.com/stonehenge.html. Registration will be open until 6pm Wednesday, 9/9.

Independent filmmakers, casting directors, and production companies, have all used Stonehenge–and they’ve told us of over 400 roles cast in over 95 projects from actors seen in the first eight henges. We’d love it to work for you.

Discounts are available for members of CAmm, WIFV (DC), and WIFV-MD.

We look forward to seeing you at the henge!

Lottery Results Emailed!

Over 280 actors registered for Stonehenge IX over the past two weeks. We conducted our lottery earlier today and have now sent out emails to everyone who registered.

Just to reiterate: if you registered for Stonehenge, you have been sent an email, whether or not you got a slot.

If for some reason you have not received an email–and with spam filters, that is a possibility–send us an email at stonehenge@teamjabberwocky.com.

Remember, that if you cannot attend for whatever reason, please shoot us a quick email to cancel your slot. There’s several people on the waitlist that would love to audition.

For those of you who were not selected, the next Stonehenge will be in late March/Early April 2010–and we’ll be returning to Washington, DC, so hopefully we’ll see you there!

Actor Registration Open for Stonehenge IX

For all those peeps who have been waiting (and we do understand there have been some people waiting), Stonehenge registration is open for actors.

As always, we suggest actors check out the exhaustive FAQ for answers to all sorts of questions.

For actors interested in attending this latest Stonehenge, we encourage you to register sooner rather than later before you forget. Actor registration has a hard stop at 6pm on Saturday, August 29. And although audition slots are assigned by lottery, you have better odds of getting a slot than any game of chance out there.

Let us explain: in addition to the 120 guaranteed slots, there’s 72 standby slots PLUS a waitlist. (we won’t say how many people will be on the waitlist, but it’s double digits, and it’s a prime number because, well, we like prime numbers). Suffice to say it’s more than 200 spaces and on average, 300 of you register.

200+ openings for 300-some actors is good, but it gets better.

This past Stonehenge, every single actor on the waitlist got an actual audition slot. Moreover, at the event, every single actor, guaranteed or standby, who wanted to audition, auditioned. We’re not saying this will happen this time, but this is how is does happen:  actors, such as yourselves, are conscientious and email us before the event and cancel. Life happens and every Stonehenge, actors have to cancel for good reasons (a paying gig) and bad (horribly sick). Whenever someone cancels, space opens up. It’s karma at work.

Again, 200+ spaces for the 300 actors who register on average.

We look forward to seeing you at the Henge!

Stonehenge IX Filmmaker Registration is Open!

If you pop on over to the Registration page, you’ll see that Filmmaker registration is now open for Stonehenge IX, set for September 13th in Baltimore, MD.

Discounts are available for members of the Creative Alliance/CAmm, WIFV (DC), and WIFV-MD.

It’s $25 until Friday, August 28th (or $20 with the discount). After that, the registration fee doubles.

Due to the packed house for Stonehenge VIII, we will be rearranging the seating, however, there is the possibility the seats for filmmakers will fill up, so register early!

Fellow Filmmaker needs Background Actors

Last year, fellow filmmaker Francis Abbey released a fun indie comedy called “Boxing Day.” He’s following up with his second feature, called “Six Non-Smokers” which starts filming today. You can learn more about it at http://www.6nonsmokers.com/6ns_about.html.

This film is bigger than the last one in that they have some crowd scenes next week. The original post on Facebook is here, but here is the text:

6 Nonsmokers, a new comedy shooting this August in the D.C. area is looking for extras. Come out and be part of the D.C. independent film scene!

We’re looking for extras available on any or all of the following days:

Monday August 10
Wednesday August 12
Thursday August 13 (Must be Hispanic or Hispanic-looking)
Friday August 14

E-mail a photo and your availability to 6nonsmokerscasting@gmail.com! Write “Extra” in the subject line.

Stonehenge VIII Videos Uploaded!

For all of you waiting to see the videos from Stonehenge VIII, wait no longer, click on over to our Stonehenge channel on YouTube and enjoy 50+ 1-minute chunks of drama and comedy.

The 100+ videos uploaded by last year’s Stonehenges were viewed over 22,000 times. Yes, if more monologues had fart jokes, it might have been in the millions, but still, we think that’s a great viewing for regional casting. We hope it aids all the actors in getting more gigs.

All the actors who opted to be taped have now received an email from us letting them know the details–as have all the filmmakers who attended Stonehenge VIII.

Registration for Stonehenge IX will open for both actors and filmmakers before you know it, in August.

Sign of the Apocalypse?

No, just a sign of the times. Team J is now on Twitter!

Stonehenge VIII Completed

Thanks to all the actors and filmmakers who attended the latest edition of Stonehenge this Sunday in Baltimore, Maryland.

We had over 60 filmmakers in attendance representing over 20 production companies.

Thanks to all the conscientious actors who, unable to attend, sent us a quick email canceling their slots. We were able to give every single actor on the waitlist an audition slot, and every actor who came on Sunday, standby or no, was able to audition if they wanted (and, of course, 99% wanted to audition).

As always, the event was thanks to the work of a great many people. Kristen Anchor and the Creative Alliance team helped us out in myriad ways both before and during the event. Bill Coughlan from Tohubohu Productions helped out with graphics. Barry Gribble and Erin Goldstein from Integral Arts handled the camerawork. They will also be editing the 50+ audition videos that will be posted to our Stonehenge YouTube Channel at the end of the month.

Actors have Kim Davenport and Meredith Sims to thank for checking them in and Donald Barnett, Gabrielle Hayes, Lisa MacDonald, Gale Nemec, Lee Perna, and Ann Rowe for distributing their resumes. The guy with the stopwatch was Bjorn Munson.

Most of all, thanks to all you actors coming out to audition and filmmakers joining us. Please let us know about future productions you may have been involved in thanks to Stonehenge. We hope to see many of you in the Fall for Stonehenge IX.
